Description

The SPA-Viberti AS43 was an Italian reconnaissance vehicle developed during World War II, primarily for use in the North African desert. It was based on the chassis of the FIAT-SPA TL37 light artillery tractor, adapted to meet the demands of desert warfare. The AS43 was designed for long-range reconnaissance, convoy escort, and ambush operations.

Two notable variants of the AS43 were equipped with different armaments:

20mm Variant: This version was armed with a Cannone-Mitragliera Breda da 20/65 Modello 1935, an anti-aircraft gun that could also engage light armoured vehicles and aircraft.

47mm Variant: This version featured a Cannone da 47/32 Mod. 1935 or Mod. 1939, a support gun capable of countering light armoured vehicles and providing infantry support.

These modifications made the AS43 a versatile and effective vehicle in various combat scenarios
