Canadian C30 medium truck (British)

Description

The Canadian C30 was a 30-hundredweight (CWT) truck used during World War II as part of the Canadian Military Pattern (CMP) truck series. Manufactured by Chevrolet and Ford, it was designed for heavy-duty transport, capable of carrying larger loads than its smaller counterparts.

The C30 featured a 4×4 drivetrain, making it well-suited for off-road operations in various theatres of war. It was powered by a 216 cubic inch, 6-cylinder engine, producing 85 horsepower, ensuring reliability in demanding conditions. The truck was used for cargo transport, troop movement, and specialized roles, including ambulance and workshop configurations.

Deployed by Commonwealth forces, the C30 played a crucial role in European, North African, and Pacific campaigns. Its rugged construction and adaptability made it a valuable asset in wartime logistics. After the war, many C30 trucks remained in service, with some repurposed for civilian use.
