Description

The Canadian F60L was a 3-ton, 4×4 military truck produced by Ford Canada as part of the Canadian Military Pattern (CMP) series during World War II. Designed for general service, it was widely used by Commonwealth forces in various theatres of war. The F60L was the long-wheelbase version, offering greater cargo capacity and versatility.

One notable variant of the F60L was equipped with Quad Polsten anti-aircraft guns, making it an effective mobile air defence platform. The Polsten 20mm cannons, a simplified version of the Oerlikon 20mm, provided rapid-fire capability against low-flying aircraft. Mounted on the F60L chassis, this configuration allowed for quick deployment and repositioning, enhancing battlefield protection.

The F60L Quad Polsten was primarily used in Northwest Europe, where it helped defend convoys and strategic positions from enemy aircraft attacks. Its rugged construction and reliable performance made it a valuable asset in wartime logistics and defence.
