Cruciform pillbox

Description

In addition to the standard types and variations of pillboxes, there are a number of completely unique examples in different areas of the country. One such pillbox is this cruciform example only discovered in September 2025. Given it’s location near an airfield, it is possible an observation post, though it also would have excellent fields of fire from it large, wide embrasures…..so maybe 3 Vickers machine guns would work just as well!

In order to aid with placing models inside, this is designed without an interior blast wall, and with a removable roof.
