Description
The L3/33, also known as the Carro Veloce 33 (CV-33), was an Italian tankette developed in the early 1930s.
Series I featured a single 6.5 mm machine gun and was based on the British Carden Loyd tankette. It had a 43 hp engine and a top speed of 42 km/h.
Series II, introduced in 1936, upgraded to twin 8 mm machine guns and improved track tensioning.
The L3/33 CC (Contro Carro) variant was an ad-hoc tank destroyer, equipped with a 20 mm anti-tank rifle.
The L3/33 saw extensive service in conflicts such as the Second Italo-Abyssinian War, Spanish Civil War, and World War II12. Despite its light armour and armament, it was widely used due to its mobility and ease of production.
