L3/38 tankette (Italian)

Description

The L3/38 was an Italian light tank developed as an improvement over the earlier L3/33 and L3/35 tankettes. Introduced in 1938, it featured a torsion bar suspension system, which provided better mobility and ride comfort compared to its predecessors. The L3/38 was armed with a single 13.2 mm Madsen machine gun, offering enhanced firepower.

Despite these improvements, the L3/38 retained the light armour and small size characteristic of the L3 series, making it vulnerable in combat. It was primarily used for reconnaissance and infantry support roles.

However, due to limited production numbers, the L3/38 saw less widespread use compared to the L3/33 and L3/35.
