Description
The Laffly S25T was a French heavy artillery tractor introduced in the late 1930s to tow medium and heavy guns. Developed by Automobiles Laffly, it followed the company’s tradition of producing innovative cross‑country vehicles equipped with auxiliary wheels at the front and beneath the cab, designed to help the truck climb obstacles and cross ditches.
The S25T was a 6×6 vehicle, larger than the earlier S15 series, and was powered by a robust petrol engine that provided sufficient torque for hauling artillery such as the 155 mm howitzer. Entering service just before the outbreak of the Second World War, the S25T was used by French forces during the 1940 campaign. After France’s defeat, many examples were captured and pressed into German service.
