Description
The Marmon Herrington armoured car was a project by the South African government to locally produce an armoured vehicle from imported parts. The US company Marmon-Herrington won the contract and supplied a vehicle of its own design, using an inhouse transmission system, but Canadian Ford chassis and engine, and with a British armament.Â
The Mk II was armed with a turret mounted Bren LMG and a Boyes AT rifle.
