Description
The R502a was a reinforced concrete shelter built by Nazi Germany as part of the Atlantik Wall coastal defences during the Second World War. Designed to accommodate two infantry squads—typically up to 20 soldiers—it provided protection from artillery bombardment and aerial attack. The structure featured two separate entrance corridors, each leading to its own troop room, allowing for independent access and improved survivability in the event of a direct hit.
The R502a included ventilation systems, bunk beds, and storage space for weapons and equipment, ensuring troops could remain sheltered for extended periods. Often located near gun emplacements, observation posts, or defensive strongpoints, these bunkers allowed rapid deployment of infantry in response to enemy landings. Their robust construction and strategic placement made them a key element in the German defensive network.
This model has a removable roof and/or floors for access.
Please note that these are designed to be built into terrain, gaming boards and so can be quite deep – please contact us if you require them to be lower to the tabletop and we will shorten them before printing to save material and cost for you.
