Description
The R600 was a small yet strategically important gun emplacement constructed by Nazi Germany as part of the Atlantik Wall coastal defence system during the Second World War. Designed to house the 5cm KwK 39 anti-tank gun, the R600 provided direct fire support against enemy infantry and light vehicles attempting to breach coastal positions.
Built from reinforced concrete, the structure featured a frontal embrasure for the gun, with internal space for ammunition storage and a crew shelter. Its compact design allowed for rapid construction and flexible deployment along beaches, harbour approaches, and inland defensive lines.
The KwK 39, originally mounted on armoured vehicles, was adapted for static use to counter Allied landing craft and support vehicles. Though limited in range and firepower compared to larger coastal guns, the R600’s low profile and hardened construction made it difficult to detect and destroy.
This model has a removable roof and/or floors for access.
Please note that these are designed to be built into terrain, gaming boards and so can be quite deep – please contact us if you require them to be lower to the tabletop and we will shorten them before printing to save material and cost for you.
