Semovente 75/34 (Italian)

The Semovente 75/46 was an Italian tank destroyer of World War II. A further development of the Semovente 75/18, the howitzer was replaced with a 75mm field gun. This increased the vehicle’s AT capability while retaining a good HE round. Superficially similar to the Semovente 75/18, there were a few changes to armour and overall design but not many.

The 75/34 only saw action in the defence of Rome in 1943, after which Italy surrendered and the Germans captured many armoured vehicles, including the 75/34. As with the 75/18, more were put into production and the German army deployed them to protect Italy and the Balkans
