T12 GMC Halftrack (US)

Description

The T12 GMC (Gun Motor Carriage) was an adaptation of the M3 White halftrack designed to carry a 75mm field gun. The M1897A4 field gun was a US version of the French ’75 that was also used by other nations such as Finland. Already over 40 years old at the start of war, it was relatively underpowered but had been modernised in the 1930s and proved an effective anti-tank weapon in the PTO against Japanese tanks as they generally had thinner armour than those of the ETO.

Around 5300 T12 variants were produced before being replaced by the M10 “Wolverine” in late 1942.
