Description
The Tachanka was a Soviet horse drawn wagon mounting a rear facing machine. Depending on the style of cart, usually they were drawn by either 2 or 4 horses and had a crew of up to 3.Â
Originally developed to provide mobility during WWI, they continued to see use through the Russian Civil War and into WWII. Their use also was adopted by other armies including Poland, who fielded them during the Polish-Soviet War and the 1939 Invasion of Poland.Â
