Description
The 8cm s.Gr.W.34 auf AMR 35(f) was a German field modification during the Second World War, combining captured French equipment with standard Wehrmacht weaponry. The base vehicle, the AMR 35, was a French light reconnaissance tank originally designed for mobility and speed. After the fall of France in 1940, the Germans repurposed many of these vehicles, converting them into ad-hoc support platforms.
In this variant, the AMR 35 chassis was fitted with the 8cm Schwerer Granatwerfer 34, a heavy mortar widely used by German infantry units. This adaptation provided mobile indirect fire support, particularly useful in urban or rugged terrain where traditional artillery was less effective.
