The Albion CX22 was a robust British artillery tractor designed to tow heavy guns such as the 6‑inch howitzer and 17‑pounder. Its four‑wheel‑drive layout and reliable engine gave it good traction and endurance across varied terrain. The enclosed cab offered modest protection and comfort for the crew, while the rear compartment carried ammunition and equipment. Although not fast, it was dependable and easy to maintain, making it popular with artillery units. The CX22 played a vital logistical role, ensuring heavy weapons could be moved quickly to new firing positions, supporting both defensive and offensive operations throughout the war.
