Description

The British K2Y 4×2 ambulance was one of the most recognisable medical vehicles used by the British Army during the Second World War. Built on the Austin K2 chassis, it featured a reliable 4×2 drive and a specially designed body capable of carrying four stretcher cases or ten seated casualties. Its practical layout, wide rear doors, and dependable performance made it highly effective in both European and North African theatres. Although unarmoured, it offered a relatively smooth ride and proved easy to maintain in the field. The K2Y became an iconic symbol of British wartime medical care, valued for its durability and efficiency.
