Description
The Bedford QL Dromedary was a specialised variant of the Bedford QL series, a 3-ton 4×4 military truck produced in the United Kingdom during the Second World War. Designed for logistical support, the Dromedary featured a distinctive enclosed body, often used for transporting sensitive equipment or supplies under cover.
Like its QL counterparts, it was powered by a 6-cylinder petrol engine delivering 72 horsepower, and had a robust off-road capability suited to varied wartime terrain. Production began in 1941 and continued until 1945, with over 52,000 QL trucks built across multiple variants. The Dromedary’s enclosed design made it ideal for roles such as mobile workshops, communications units, or supply transport in adverse conditions.
It played a vital role in maintaining operational efficiency for British and Allied forces, particularly in European and North African theatres. Its versatility and reliability earned it a respected place in wartime logistics
