Description

The German Panzerbüchse, commonly referred to as the anti-tank rifle, was deployed by Nazi Germany during World War II to counter lightly armoured vehicles. Designed for portability and rapid deployment, it allowed infantry to target thinly armoured tanks and armoured cars predominantly in the early war years. The weapon fired high-velocity rounds capable of piercing armour at short to medium ranges, relying on penetration rather than explosive force. Its effectiveness diminished as Allied armour improved, leading to its gradual replacement by more powerful anti-tank weapons.
