DAK Pioneer squad (German)

Description

During World War II, the Afrika Korps pioneers were a specialized German unit operating under Field Marshal Erwin Rommel in North Africa. Tasked with engineering duties, they constructed fortifications, repaired roads, laid minefields, and enabled mobility for armoured divisions across harsh desert terrain. Their expertise in desert logistics and combat engineering supported the rapid advance and manoeuvre warfare that characterized Rommel’s campaigns. Operating under extreme heat and minimal resources, these pioneers facilitated supply lines, defensive positions, and bridging operations, directly contributing to the operational effectiveness of the Afrika Korps.
