Description

The Afrika Korps was the German expeditionary force deployed to North Africa during World War II, primarily under the command of General Erwin Rommel. Composed of highly trained infantry and mechanized units, its soldiers excelled in desert warfare, demonstrating mobility and tactical innovation against Allied forces. The infantry performed reconnaissance, defensive operations, and coordinated attacks with armoured divisions, often overcoming harsh conditions such as extreme heat, sand, and supply shortages. They were known for discipline, adaptability, and effective use of combined-arms tactics. Despite eventual defeat, the Afrika Korps earned a formidable reputation for endurance, skill, and operational effectiveness in a challenging theatre of war.
