Description
The L6/40 flamethrower tank, also known as the L6 Lf (Lancia fiamme), was an Italian light tank variant developed during World War II. Designed by Fiat and Ansaldo, it featured a flamethrower in place of the main gun, with a 200-liter fuel capacity.
The L6/40 was originally intended for reconnaissance and infantry support, but its light armour and armament limited its effectiveness. Despite these limitations, it saw service on various fronts, including North Africa and the Eastern Front. The L6/40’s design was based on the earlier L3/35 tank.
