Laffley S35T (French)

Description

The French Laffly S35T was an artillery tractor designed to tow heavy guns such as the 155mm GPF. Its distinctive auxiliary rollers improved traction over rough ground, giving it better mobility than many contemporary tractors. Powered by a reliable petrol engine, it offered steady pulling power but modest speed. After France’s collapse, the Germans captured numerous S35Ts and used them to tow artillery and perform engineering tasks. Maintenance could be demanding due to its complex suspension, yet crews appreciated its ability to traverse uneven terrain. The Laffly S35T ultimately proved a capable specialist vehicle in both French and German service.
