Laffly S20 PC Radio truck (French)

Description

The Laffly S20 PC was a French command and radio truck developed in the late 1930s as part of the versatile Laffly S20 series. Built on the S20TL 6×6 chassis, it was designed to provide mobile communications and command facilities for mechanised units.

The vehicle carried radio equipment and aerials, enabling field commanders to coordinate operations more effectively. Like other S20 variants, it featured Laffly’s distinctive auxiliary wheels at the front and beneath the cab, which improved cross‑country performance by helping the truck negotiate ditches and obstacles.

Powered by a 68 hp Hotchkiss engine, the S20 PC could reach speeds of around 65 km/h while transporting personnel and equipment. Approximately 630 S20 trucks of all types were produced before France’s defeat in 1940, with the PC radio version serving in limited numbers.
