Description
The 7.5 cm leichtes Infanteriegeschütz 18 (le.IG 18) was a German infantry support gun used during World War II. Developed by Rheinmetall in 1927 and produced from 1932 to 1945, it was designed to provide close support for infantry units. The gun had a calibre of 75 mm and could fire high-explosive shells up to 3,550 meters. It featured a hydro-pneumatic recoil system and a top-break breech. The le.IG 18 was versatile, with variants for mountain and airborne troops, and saw extensive use on all fronts during the war
