M15/42 medium tank (Italian)

Description

A (M)edium tank of 15 tons, and adopted in 1942, the M15/42 medium tank was a interim measure intended to bridge the gap between the inadequate M13 and M14 tanks and the heavier P26 tanks. Unfortunately it suffered many of the drawbacks of it’s predecessors and was obsolete before it saw action as the 47mm main gun was insufficient to damage the Matilda II tanks of the British. As such, it was never fielded in North Africa and principally saw use with the Wehrmacht in Yugoslavia and Italy.
