Opel Admiral Ambulance (German)

Description

The Opel Admiral ambulance was a German medical evacuation vehicle adapted from the Opel Admiral luxury saloon during the Second World War. Its strong chassis and reliable 3.6‑litre engine made it suitable for conversion into a light ambulance for use on European fronts. The rear cabin was modified to carry stretcher cases or seated wounded, offering more comfort than many truck‑based alternatives. Although not produced in large numbers, it served with Wehrmacht medical units, transporting casualties from combat zones to field hospitals. Its combination of speed, relative comfort, and dependable engineering made it a useful, if limited, asset in Germany’s wartime medical fleet.
