Opel Blitz w/2cm flak (German)

Description

The Opel Blitz was Germany’s standard 3‑ton truck, widely used for transport and logistics. Mounting a 2cm FlaK gun on its bed created a mobile anti‑aircraft platform capable of defending convoys and supply columns. The gun offered rapid fire against low‑flying aircraft and could also be used against infantry or lightly armoured vehicles. Although unarmoured and vulnerable, the combination was cheap, flexible, and easy to deploy. These improvised vehicles became common as Germany sought to counter increasing Allied air attacks, especially during late‑war operations when dedicated anti‑aircraft vehicles were in short supply.
