PaK 43/41 88mm heavy anti-tank gun (German)

Description

The Pak 43/41 was a powerful German anti‑tank gun introduced in 1943, designed to counter increasingly well‑armoured Allied vehicles. It mounted the high‑velocity 88 mm Pak 43 barrel on a simpler, improvised carriage adapted from the 105 mm howitzer, allowing faster production despite its considerable weight. The gun delivered exceptional armour‑penetration performance, capable of defeating virtually any Allied tank at long range. Although highly effective, its size and limited mobility made it challenging to deploy and move in the field. Even so, the Pak 43/41 became one of Germany’s most formidable anti‑tank weapons of the Second World War.
