Description

The M262 fire control post was a critical component of the German Atlantik Wall coastal defence system during the Second World War. Positioned to oversee artillery batteries, it served as the command hub for directing naval gunfire against Allied ships and landing forces. Constructed from reinforced concrete, the M262 featured thick walls and a protected observation deck, allowing personnel to withstand bombardment while maintaining visual contact with targets.

Equipped with rangefinders, plotting tables, and communication equipment, it coordinated fire from multiple gun emplacements, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Typically located on elevated terrain with clear views of the coastline, the post was manned by trained artillery officers and signal operators. Its strategic role made it a prime target during Allied assaults, particularly during the Normandy landings.

This model has a removable roof and/or floors for access.
