Description
The R611 casemate was a reinforced concrete gun emplacement constructed by Nazi Germany as part of the Atlantik Wall during the Second World War. Specifically designed to house the 15.5 cm K418(f) howitzer—a French field gun captured after the fall of France—the R611 provided both protection and a stable firing platform for coastal defence.
The structure featured a thick-walled, blast-resistant design with an open rear for ventilation and ammunition handling, and a frontal embrasure allowing the gun to engage naval and land-based targets. Internally, it included space for the gun crew, ammunition storage, and basic operational equipment.
The K418(f) offered a range of over 17 kilometres, making it effective against Allied landing forces. R611 casemates were typically positioned to cover beaches, harbours, and key coastal approaches.
This model has a removable roof and/or floors for access.
Please note that these are designed to be built into terrain, gaming boards and so can be quite deep – please contact us if you require them to be lower to the tabletop and we will shorten them before printing to save material and cost for you.
