Regelbau R636a Point du Hoc command post

Price range: £22.68 through £162.00

Description

The R636a was a reinforced concrete command post constructed by Nazi Germany as part of the Atlantik Wall defences at Pointe du Hoc, Normandy. Designed to serve as a fire control and coordination centre, it played a vital role in directing artillery fire from nearby gun emplacements, including the formidable 155mm coastal guns originally positioned on the cliff top.

The structure featured thick blast-resistant walls, multiple internal rooms for communications, mapping, and personnel, and an observation cupola offering panoramic views of the English Channel.

Equipped with rangefinders and radio equipment, the R636a enabled precise targeting of Allied naval and landing forces. Its strategic location made it a key objective during the D-Day landings, when U.S. Army Rangers scaled the cliffs to neutralise the threat.

This model has a removable roof and/or floors for access.

Please note that these are designed to be built into terrain, gaming boards and so can be quite deep – please contact us if you require them to be lower to the tabletop and we will shorten them before printing to save material and cost for you.
