Description
The R650 casemate was a reinforced concrete gun emplacement constructed by Nazi Germany as part of the Atlantik Wall coastal defences during the Second World War. Specifically designed to house the 10.5 cm leFH 324(f) field howitzer—originally a French Schneider gun captured after the fall of France—the R650 provided a fortified position for coastal artillery support.
The structure featured thick blast-resistant walls, a frontal embrasure for the gun, and internal compartments for ammunition storage, crew shelter, and operational equipment. Its design allowed for both direct and indirect fire, making it effective against enemy landing forces and light naval targets.
The R650 was typically positioned to cover beaches, harbour approaches, and inland routes, forming part of a wider defensive network. Though smaller than some casemates, it offered a balance of protection and firepower.
This model has a removable roof and/or floors for access.
Please note that these are designed to be built into terrain, gaming boards and so can be quite deep – please contact us if you require them to be lower to the tabletop and we will shorten them before printing to save material and cost for you.
