Description

The Polish Sokol 1000, often equipped with a sidecar, was a heavy motorcycle designed for durability and national production before the war. Its powerful engine and robust frame made it suitable for carrying officers, dispatch riders, or machine‑gun teams. Although large and somewhat unwieldy, it performed well on Poland’s mixed road network. After the 1939 invasion, surviving examples were used by German forces, who valued its strength but noted its demanding maintenance. Despite limited numbers, the Sokol 1000 represented Poland’s effort to field a capable military motorcycle, offering solid performance in reconnaissance and support roles.
