SPW S307(f) – Ammo carrier (German)

Description

This German conversion of the French Somua MCG half‑track served as an ammunition carrier for mechanised units. Its spacious cargo area and good mobility made it suitable for transporting rounds for artillery, anti‑tank guns, or infantry weapons. Used primarily by the 21st Panzer Division in Normandy, it supported various improvised German vehicles based on French chassis. Although unarmoured, it could operate close to the front due to its reliability and ability to traverse rough terrain. The SPW S307(f) helped sustain German firepower in units heavily reliant on captured equipment.
