Description
The Sturer Emil, officially known as the 12.8 cm Selbstfahrlafette auf VK 30.01(H), was a German prototype tank destroyer developed during World War II. It was armed with a powerful 12.8 cm PaK 40 L/61 gun, mounted on a modified VK 30.01(H) chassis. Only two prototypes were built, and they saw limited action on the Eastern Front.
The Sturer Emil was notable for its long range firepower and ability to destroy heavily armoured Soviet tanks. However, its open-top design left the crew vulnerable to enemy fire and harsh weather conditions. Both prototypes were eventually lost in combat.
