Sturmtiger (German)

Description

The Sturmtiger was a heavy assault vehicle armed with a massive 38cm rocket‑propelled mortar designed for destroying fortified positions. Built on the Tiger I chassis, it featured thick armour and devastating firepower but extremely limited ammunition capacity. Intended for urban combat and bunker‑busting, it saw limited action in Warsaw, the Ardennes, and other late‑war battles. Its rounds could obliterate buildings, but slow reload times and poor mobility restricted its effectiveness. Despite its specialised role, the Sturmtiger became one of the war’s most iconic assault vehicles due to its unusual design and immense destructive capability.
