T-34/85 medium tank (Soviet)

Description

The original T-34 tank with it’s 76mm gun, sloped armour and broad tracks was a revolutionary design that caught the invading Germans off guard. It was not without its faults though, and the later T-34/85 managed to fix many of these.

The principle change being an upgraded turret that allowed better visibility and of course – mounted an 85mm gun. This drastically increased the firepower of the T-34 and made it capable of successfully engaging most German armoured vehicles. The T-34/85 continued to be used after the war. As well as immediate post war engagements such as the Korean War, it has been spotted in insurgent forces right into the 21st century!
