Tiger II – late (German)

Description

The Tiger II, or Königstiger, was Germany’s most advanced heavy tank, combining thick sloped armour with the powerful 8.8cm KwK 43 gun. It was nearly invulnerable from the front and capable of destroying Allied tanks at long ranges. However, its immense weight caused mechanical failures, high fuel consumption, and limited manoeuvrability. Production was slow and numbers remained small. The Tiger II saw combat on both Eastern and Western fronts, often dominating engagements when properly supported. Despite its formidable battlefield performance, logistical difficulties and strategic realities prevented it from altering Germany’s declining fortunes.
