Description
The Volksgrenadier were a series of 78 army divisions formed in late 1944 to counter the losses suffered by Germany in Normandy and on the Eastern Front. Unlike the similarly named Volkssturm miltia, Volksgrenadiers were professional soldiers, rather than poorly armed and trained civilians.
