Description
The Bunkerflak, officially known as the 8.8 cm Flak 18 (Sfl.) auf schwere Zugkraftwagen 12t (Sd.Kfz. 8), was a German self-propelled gun developed before World War II. Mounted on a half-track chassis, it featured the powerful 8.8 cm Flak 18 gun.
This vehicle was designed to tackle fortified positions and heavy tanks, proving effective during the Invasion of Poland and the Battle of France. However, its open design left the crew vulnerable. The Bunkerflak was phased out by 1943, with remaining units seeing action on the Eastern Front.
