Description
During World War II, German radar installations relied heavily on radio masts to transmit and receive electromagnetic signals for detecting enemy aircraft and ships. These masts supported systems like the Würzburg and Freya radars, which used parabolic antennas mounted on towers to achieve ranges of up to 100 km. The masts enabled early warning, target tracking, and fire control, especially for anti-aircraft defences and night fighter coordination. Positioned along coastlines and strategic sites, they formed part of an integrated network known as the Kammhuber Line. Despite Allied jamming efforts, Germany continually upgraded mast designs and radar frequencies to maintain operational effectiveness.
This building represents a generic building with a radio mast suitable for use in tabletop wargaming without being too big!
